12muddy | There's a show that I want to find, but can't because I don't remember the name. It was aired perhaps 10-14 years ago. The series could be older though. I only managed to catch a few episodes, and I remember that each episode was a separate story. It was sort of eerie and haunting. I remember one episode quite clearly. It started with a lady whose neck and head were covered in bandages. It was implied that she went through surgery to make her "beautiful" and "normal" so she could fit into society. Later when the bandages were removed, she was revealed to be a very pretty lady. But she was horrified and devastated as she looked into the mirror they gave her. It was implied that the surgery failed. In the end she was exiled to the place where people who didn't fit into society lived. Some physically deformed people looked on as she walked towards that colony. A good-looking man held out his hand to her and she took it. I can't get it out of my head lol if anyone knows what this tv series might be, please tell me. Thank you Update: Ah someone on reddit said that it's Twilight Zone. |
Pathseeker | Hi, Yes, it is the Twilight Zone. It is the episode named, "Eye of the Beholder". Pathseeker |
Randall | It was a good episode. |

There was an Amazing Stories episode;(I think that was the series...not sure) that had two teens being sent to another planet because they looked like monsters. Another was I think; an episode from The Outer Limits |
12muddy | Yeah, it was good. I watched it when I was in my early teenage years, and experiencing issues/confusion regarding my physical appearance. That episode, among other things, really got me thinking. I'm watching the whole series and reading his books. |
SirenSong | Used to love those Rod Serling books |
Randall | I didn't know he wrote books! |
SirenSong | Can't remember if he wrote them or collected them. I used to love those Alfred Hitchcock Presents as well. Tried to find them last night, but I must have lent them to one of the kids. I always think of that as a good investment. |
SirenSong | Kind of think he did. |
GypseeWind | I love Twilight Zone! They are like perfectly crafted plays, each and every one. Netflix has the whole series and I watch it at night. If you've ever wondered about Rod Serling and his piercing gaze... he's (was) a Scorpio. Absolutely iconic! |
Randall | I wish they would do a modern version. |
MoonMystic | If I am not mistaken Miss Ellie, Donna Douglas, from The Beverly Hillbillies was the patient they condemned for her not looking as they did. I watched them all! Hitchcock hour, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Tales from the Crypt, Kolchak, The Hitchhiker .. http://youtu.be/S89UnN0z1EM - http://youtu.be/mZCDulcCwVw had a huge crush on him! In the 80s even Steven Spielberg had his series Amazing Stories~ http://youtu.be/xVZfoeUsJrI .. and there was also Tales From The Darkside http://youtu.be/wNwUBHAUags which I thought deserved much more attention as it was as good imo as the Twilight Zone. Did you know Twilight zone was revamped several times since it's original spin? |
Randall | Revamped how? |

There were at least 4 revamps and a movie. Just Google it and get more about the series than you ever thought to ask about!😎 Much surprising history of it all!😎 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twilight_Zone |
